Why Chiropractic Care is Part of a Healthy Lifestyle

It’s no secret.  People today are becoming steadily more health conscious.  The medical model has slowly let enough people down that primary care is no longer considered good enough for most people in terms of optimizing and maintaining great health.

 

One very large reason for this is the fact that despite all the money Americans have spent on health care the past several decades the face is that many chronic and lifestyle related diseases are rising steadily every year.  Diabetes, cancer, heart disease and auto-immune conditions all continue to rise in number. Heck, even obesity is now officially a disease.  Coincidently all of these are very lucrative conditions for the medical model of health care.

 

Many people have had enough and are responding to the situation by seeking out alternative treatments for their health problems.  Drugs and surgery are effective at masking symptoms but generally do very little to address underlying physiological causes of these problems.  Many natural treatments do the opposite.  They address underlying physiological problems which then lead to the improvement or removal of symptoms for a condition.

 

Take for example changing your diet from a Standard American Diet (S.A.D) to a whole foods diet loaded with fresh meat, veggies, fruits and nuts.  This does not address any specific condition yet works wonders for weight loss, arthritis, diabetes and a number of other conditions.  By the way, this is why I focus so heavily on food in my practice.  You can find more healthy recipes here. Because the fundamental shift towards health that occurs when people eat this way is so profound it helps other therapies be more effective, including chiropractic which I’ll talk about more below.

 

Chiropractic is a fundamental aspect of any healthy lifestyle because it addresses the functionality of the nervous system.  The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and all other nerves in your body.  Its function is to relay information from the body to the brain and from the brain to the body.

 

EXAMPLE:  You are cooking dinner and are not paying attention to where you are in the kitchen.  You reach for the pan handle but accidently put your hand on a hot burner.  The second your hand was even close to the burner nerve cells in your hand began sending a message to the brain that heat was being felt by your hand.  This impulse intensified significantly when you touched the burner and the brain responded by causing your muscles in the arm to contract and remove your hand from the burner before more serious damage could occur.

 

DO YOU WANT ANYTHING INTERFEREING WITH YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM??

 

I sure don’t because it doesn’t just keep you from burning your hand.  It lets you know when you’re hungry, when you need to use the bathroom, where you are in relation to other objects and controls when certain hormones and enzymes are released in the body.  In short, it controls just about everything and chiropractic adjustments are THE SINGLE BEST THING FOR REDUCING NERVOUS SYSTEM INTERFERENCE.

 

Chiropractic is also great for reducing back pain, headaches, tingling and numbness in the hands and feet, weakness and a number of other conditions precisely because it improves the most important system in the body.  You can read more about my own practice here.  So, who is your chiropractor?
